Cowboy and Cowgirl Poetry Night will celebrate its 31st year in Red Bluff, Monday, April 15th, 6 pm. Western poets of all ages are invited to carry on the tradition by taking the mike and share their favorite songs and poems about the Western way of life in the form of traditional, modern or original poems and songs. The event, leading up to the Round Up will be held at the Tehama District Fairgrounds Auditorium, 650 Antelope Blvd, Red Bluff, CA, and is sponsored by the Tehama County Arts Council. Doors will open at 5:30 pm., and admission is free. Cowboy poetry originated with real cowboys sitting around the campfire telling stories of their experiences of the day, often in songs on their guitar, or as poems. Come celebrate Earth Day with activities for the whole family on Saturday, April 20, from 10 am- 1 pm. Join us for guided nature walks along the Cottonwood Trail at 10 and 11 am. Create balloon stamp art and nature sketches. Read the StoryWalk® featuring Miss Fox’s Class Goes Green by Eileen Spinelli. Sign your fourth grader up for the California State Parks Adventure Pass. The event and parking are free. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. California State Parks supports equal access. the Corning Chamber of Commerce is participating for the first time in the Tehama County "Celebrating Children" event. This event is sponsored by the Tehama County Department of Education and Early Learning Programs & Services and the LPC - Local Child Care Planning Council. The Chamber received a grant from these agencies to offer the community a, "Snow Cone Social & Book Giveaway" to participate in the celebration. It will be held on Friday, April 26 from 2:30 - 4PM at the Chamber office, 1110 Solano Street in downtown Corning. Books will be available for children of all ages and also in Spanish. Also, for the first time earlier that same day, the City of Corning will be participating as an additional location to Red Bluff's event, in Tehama County's "Children's Memorial Flag Raising" at 10AM at the City Hall Flagpole, at the corner of Solano & 3rd Streets, to commemorate a Day of Remembrance to recognize the tragedy of violence against children. The flag-raising event is co-sponsored by the City of Corning, Tehama County Social Services and Tehama County 4 Kids.

Red Bluff Masterworks Chorale & Orchestra is presenting a patriotic concert to honor first responders and members of the US Military. Everyone is invited to this free concert to celebrate Memorial Day as we remember those who gave so much,

This 4-weeks series is designed to teach you how to utilize your financial statements to better manage and understand your business operations, cash flow, and profitability. Focus includes: interpreting and understanding your financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) hands-on exercise and case study; identifying cash flow cycle and how it impacts your business; learning how to calculate and use financial ratios to troubleshoot fiscal dangers, and analyzing trends to improve business performance; using financial tools to make good business decisions for effective spending and break-even analysis; knowing how to think critically when looking at pricing and costs; and developing forecasts and budgetary tools and techniques to improve profit.

May is mental health awareness month and art is vital to a healthy, happy vibrant community and a healthy, happy, vibrant life. The Tehama County Arts Council's show for the month of May is the Bee show. Art will focus on depicting a bee theme either in the art or the title; bee kind, bee a friend, bee happy, bee authentic, bee strong, bee at peace, bee free or any other message that speaks to the artist. The Bee Show will open with an artists reception Friday, May 10, 5:30-8pm, Tehama Arts Gallery, 328 Oak Street, Red Bluff. It will run through May 31. Artists are encouraged to create art on hexagon shapes/canvases, Canvases are available at the Tehama Arts Gallery. This is a show to have fun with. Bee creative! The 50th Annual CHVA Car Show in the Park at Red Bluff River Park will be held on Sunday May 19, 2024, 8am to 2pm. It's good old-fashioned fun for the classic car enthusiast. For $20 you can enter your car in one of 16 classes of cars from pre 1930's through 1975. Stock and modified cars are welcome. Trophies in every category. Visitors are free. Bring the entire family to this event and enjoy, cars, music, food and drinks, raffle prizes including a 50-50 prize, and a Henry Golden Boy Rifle. The live music is by Jimmy Limo. The event is put on by the Contemporary Historical Vehicle Association. Spectators and visitors attend for free. The Wednesday Farmers' “Market Downtown” will take place on Washington Street (in front of the old Tehama County Courthouse) and a portion of Pine Street (between Jefferson & Main Streets), 5 - 8 PM beginning on June 6^th through August 26^th.
