On Friday, April 24 from 2:30 - 4PM, the Corning Chamber of Commerce is participating in Tehama County's "Celebrating Children" with their "3rd Annual Snow Cone Social & Book Giveaway" at the Chamber office, 1110 Solano Street in downtown Corning. This event is sponsored by the Tehama County Department of Education and Early Learning Programs & Services and the LPC - Local Child Care Planning Council. Books will be available for children of all ages, also in Spanish and new this year, we will have a few in Braille. Tour the Corning Museum and choose your book BEFORE you get your snow cone on your way out! Also, earlier that same day, the City of Corning will be participating in Tehama County's "Childrens" Memorial Flag Raising" at 10AM at the City Hall Flagpole, at the corner of Solano & 3rd Streets, to commemorate a Day of Remembrance to recognize the tragedy of violence against children.
