Bring the Family for a Day of Olive Inspired Fun!
Join us for the 22nd Annual Corning Olive Festival. Olive and olive oil purveyors will be showcasing and celebrating “all things olive” on Saturday, August 27, 2011, from 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Woodson City Park in Corning, California.
Free olive and olive oil sampling, a head to head Dutch Oven Cook-Off, artists, crafters, a beer garden, and ice cream with an olive oil sundae bar will be available throughout the day’s festivities. An attraction you will not want to miss is the famous “Olive Drop.” Olives will be dropped from Corning’s Volunteer Fire Department ladder truck from over 35 ft. high onto Corning Rotary’s 40 square foot bull’s eye target; the closest olive receives a raffle prize.
Before the festival opens Corning High School will be hosting the Fun Run/Walk. This event kicks off the beginning of the Olive Festival at 9:00am starting at Woodson City Park (registration is at 8:00am).
A trolley will be making loops from the parking lot to the festival grounds throughout the day and there are tours at 10:00pm, 12:00pm, & 2:00pm of the Olive City. This event is open to the public with free admission. For more information about this event or to have an olive in the Olive Drop, visit www.corningchamber.com.
The Corning Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the sponsors of the 22nd Annual Corning Olive Oil Festival. This community event would not be possible without their support.
