Annual Adobe Day

Name: Annual Adobe Day
Date: September 21, 2019
Time: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
The 40th annual Adobe Day will take place at William B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park in Red Bluff from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019. At this year’s Adobe Day, we will recapture pioneer life and celebrate the grand reopening of the historic adobe. Park staff and volunteers wearing costumes from the California Gold Rush era will be there to greet you as you cross the Bridge of Time to arrive in the year 1852. Adobe Day is a great opportunity for family and friends to gather for an old-fashioned day of fun along the banks of the Sacramento River. Step into the rough-and-tumble times of early California and participate in pioneer living: butter churning, creating cornhusk dolls, making wooden sailboats, log sawing, quilting, and dancing the Virginia Reel. Brave pioneers may also take part in the cow-chipping contest, and others can discover if they truly are a Mibster at a game of marbles. Children can play pioneer games, purchase a “sweet” at the General Store, or watch a puppet theater show.
