The City of Corning Recreation and the Corning Chamber of Commerce invite the community to a special event, the “4th Annual Celebrating Hometown Heroes and Touch-A-Truck,” which will take place during the June 2nd Corning Tuesday Night Market, 5-8PM, Solano between 3rd & 6th Streets. This will be a fun and exciting event where kids explore trucks, emergency vehicles, heavy equipment and more. Meet & Greet some of Corning's Hometown Heroes, Touch-A-Truck, scramble up the Sheriff's Search & Rescue's climbing wall, and there will be plenty of lights and sirens. The agencies participating are: CalFire, Corning Fire and Police, Corning Elementary & High School Districts, Dignity Health/St. Elizabeth's Community Hospital, Tehama County Sheriffs' Search & Rescue and Boating Unit, and Waste Management. - See a garbage truck close-up - Check out the inside of an ambulance - Explore a CalFire engine - Talk with our local fireman - Learn about our local school districts - Check out the Corning PD's vehicle - Get tips on fire prevention - See the Tehama County Sheriff's Boating Unit’s truck & vessel Learn how all their vehicles work and talk to the heroes themselves. It will be an evening you and your kids don't want to miss!
