Early pioneer Christmas traditions will be celebrated at on Saturday, December 14th. Everyone is invited to attend the 42st annual Pioneer Christmas Party from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., hosted by Ide Adobe Interpretive Association and California State Parks. We invite the community to join us for a day of festivities, music, and making ornaments. Volunteers wearing 1850s clothing will be on hand to greet visitors and invite them to participate in early pioneer Christmas traditions. Local musicians will provide entertainment. Visitors can make handmade gifts including tin punch, Christmas crackers, pomanders, and rag dolls. Warm wassail and treats will be served. Stationed dragoons will give the latest frontier news and there will be covered wagon rides! Children will clamor to break a traditional Christmas piñata! This Pioneer Christmas Party is fun for the whole family. Admission for adults and children 4 years and older is $2 per person, and children under 4 are free.
