"Plein Air" Exhibit, Sept. 7- Oct. 7, at the Main Event Gallery, 710 Main Street, Red Bluff. Featuring Redding artist, Chuck Prudhomme's impressionistic-style paintings in addition to art and photography by Gallery members. Prudhomme particularly enjoys Plein Air painting, i.e. painting outdoors, because it allows him to spend some time in dramatic natural surroundings or locations. He says, "I am interested in capturing the feel of a place and the story hidden within. I enjoy the tactile vibrancy of thick colorful paint applied in a quick, intuitive way, rather than a photorealistic image." Gallery hours, 1-7 p.m., Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays.
